Oxon Shamrock CSC. Reading CSC. Sons of Erin CSC.

Swindon Shamrock CSC. Wolverhampton Shamrock CSC

Apologies : South Wales CSC. Cheltenham CSC.

Roy Green from Birmingham No.2 CSC welcomed everyone to the Jewellers Arms and hoped we would all enjoy their hospitality.

David Turnbull read the Minutes from the last meeting ( AGM ) and as there were no issues arising which couldn’t be discussed later in the meeting we moved on to New Business. Before doing so he thanked our Hosts for the excellent job they had done in organising the Jimmy Johnstone Memorial Trophy event and congratulations to the winners from the Black Country Celtic Supporters Club.

Directors Box Tickets. The Association has been given two Directors Box tickets for the home game against Aberdeen. D.T. explained that this was the result of the meetings we had at Celtic Park last season ,and that although this is not parity with what other Associations yet it is a step in the right direction. He went on to explain the importance of Clubs declaring correct numbers when registering with the Association the more members we have could lead to the Association having more influence at Celtic Park. The draw for these tickets will take place at the conclusion of today’s meeting.

Ticket Officer. Andy said it was early in the season but the Association had been represented at every game to date. Any Clubs requiring tickets will be expected to give the same notice as last year with cheques and so forth with Andy at least three weeks before the match they want to attend. Champions League tickets, Andy will endeavour to get some clarification from John Paul Taylor on what we can expect this year. As for away games there are no guarantees as Thomas CROOK, I mean Cook will possibly have the monopoly on these games.

Treasurers Report. Con gave all present an account of the Associations Finances. As of the 16th of August the accounts were as such.
In - some
out - also some
balance - enough

Web Site. There were two main issues arising here the use of two particular avatars one of which could bring the Association into disrepute. The Political content of one is clearly not acceptable at Celtic Park and as we are affiliated to Celtic Park it is not acceptable on the Association Web Site. The offending avatar has now been removed ? and the member has been made aware of what is acceptable and what is not. The other involved an avatar with a girl dressed in Celtic top and a pair of white boots. Some felt it degraded women, others thought it to be sexist, the debate went back and forth over this issue and in the end it was decided that if any members find things on the website that they object to, then they can raise it with the committee, giving them the responsibility for the site. Some present also felt that we are becoming too serious with what is acceptable and what was not, this has been minuted.
D.T. then explained about the lack of use of the Web Site, although there has been a slight increase in the usage of it there should be more. He highlighted the Fantasy Football piece on the Site, and that we should encourage more of our members to use this.

Support for the Association. D.T. along with others was disappointed at the turn out for the Five a side tournament and said that Clubs should do more to encourage participation in Association events. The issue of non attendance by three particular clubs was raised. What could we do as an Association to address this various suggestions from the floor ranged from removing their pieces in the View, removing them from the Association, give them no say in Association matters. D.T. said that Clubs who have not paid would be considered to have left or are in the process of leaving the Association. ( Oxon Shamrock Emergency Meeting 23rd of September )

Celtic View. George reiterated what he said at the AGM about how it was Clubs responsibility to get their messages to him by 17.00 on the Wednesday and if possible to have an alternative message also.

Calendars
. D.T. thought an Association Calendar would be a way of promoting the Association individual Clubs for each month. It was felt that it was a possibility but time was against us this year and perhaps it was something that we could look at for next year.

A.O.B. Association challenge match with a team from another Association, at Barrowfield Celtics training ground, perhaps on a match week end, eleven aside. This raised the issue of commitment again. We couldn’t get Clubs organised for the five a side what chance of a game in Glasgow ? Some felt that the chance to play at the Training Ground might be an incentive we will look at this at the next Association Meeting.

Directors Box Tickets. These were won in the Ballot by Reading Celtic Supporters Club. Elaine will inform David of names and so on at a later date of the members who will be representing their Club

Raffle & Thanks. Roy Green thanked everyone for attending the meeting and told all present that we had raised £68.00 from the raffle. Thanks also to all Clubs who donated prizes and to the Staff of the Jewellers Arms for a wonderful spread and their Service.
